The Asheville Saturday Night Contra Dance
FOURTH SATURDAYS (mostly)
Spring 2013 dates (mark your calendar):
Jan. 26, Feb. 23, March 23, April 27, May 18.
Program:
6:00 - 7:30: Family Dance - aimed at families with children ~5-11
7:30 - 8:00: Contra Lesson
8:00 - 10:00: Contra Dance - aimed at teens and adults; youth who are ready are also welcome.
(Tweens - try both and see which fits.
Dancers 12 and under should have accompanying adult present.)
Often, socializing afterward. Feel free to initiate, suggest or invite!
Music & Calling:
Live music by Asheville's finest local dance musicians. Sometimes the band invites others to join
in for an "open band" evening. Check the schedule; if listed as such, bring your intstrument(s) and join
the band!
All dances are taught and called, with a welcoming, no-pressure atmosphere.
No experience necessary.
No partner necessary.

Cost:
Contribute what you can. Consider comparable entertainment:
- Cheap movie night: $5.00
- Prime-time night movie night: $10.00
- Cheap movie night for parent and 2 children: $15.00
- Local baseball game for one parent and child: $13.00
- 2-hour live concert: $10 or more
- One parent and child at amusement park for 1 day: $100! ($25 per 2-hours)
